Seche Vite Gripe

I'm starting to have a love/hate relationship with Seche Vite, leaning more towards the hate side.  I love the glossiness and the flash-dry capability, but I HATE this shrinkage.  I didn't have any shrinkage through the first half of my bottle, but it seems that once I got to the half-way mark, this thing decided to pull an attitude and decided to say, "Eh, I'm not going to work so great for you anymore."  So I decided to buy a bottle of Seche Restore, which honestly hasn't restored anything.  I'm about to throw this bottle out.  Is it too much to ask for a quick-drying top coat that leaves a glossy finish, but doesn't cause shrinkage and ruin a beautiful mani?? (rhetorical question...well somewhat).  Ladies help me here please.  Am I missing some important step, trick, to be able to have a good working relationship with this stupid bottle of Seche?  Or is there a good alternative?  My Super Shiney + Quick-drying drops combo is not cutting it for me.  Super Shiney is neither "super" nor "shiney", and the quick-drying drops aren't really quick (if 5-7 mins is "quick") nor fully drying. *Ugh* Any help/tips/suggestions are much appreciated. :)

I hear thinning regularly will help. Also to prevent shrinkage, paint a coat of clear polish before seche.
Hope that'll help you a bit.

You could try "sealing" the free edge of your nail with Seche, but honestly, that didn't work for me either. I gave up on Seche a few months ago, and now my new big love is called Essie Good to Go! It might take a little longer to dry, but I love the finish! X

@ amusedPolish - I tried the regular top coat under Seche, and while it did help a bit, it's not a total fix because there still is shrinkage. Maybe I'm not putting enough Restore drops in it or mixing it well enough?? I'll keep trying and see what happens.

@ Manicure Time - Yup, always wrap the free edge, but I think that it causes the edge to shrink, which makes it easier for the polish to chip. I've read good reviews about Essie's G2G, and plan on picking up a bottle today during my lunch. Glad you recommend too!

I gave up on Seche after my third bottle. The shrinkage was just too frustrating. Now I use Essie Good to Go Essie's regular Top Coat. Both have pretty good dry time for me. But by good I mean I give my nails at least 15-20 minutes before I try to do anything serious (like fish in my purse for car keys!).

@ V V - Wow 3 bottles?! You make me feel impatient. LOL j/k. Shrinkage totally sucks. Glad you endorse Essie's top coats too. If I can get my hands on it tonight, I'll try to post an update in the next few days (see how it does after some wear & tear.
